In his foreword to the guide, Congress General Secretary Owen Reidy reflects on the inspiration behind the project, noting the influence of the University and College Union’s (UCU) publication of a similar guide in 2022. The new ICTU guide underscores the vital role unions play in promoting awareness and understanding of neurodiversity across various sectors, including the education sector.

Our union has been a long-standing and active contributor to the Congress Disability Committee, and the dedication of all members—particularly those from IFUT—in the development of this guide deserves special recognition.
