IFUT has joined ASTI, INTO and TUI in calling on the Government to withdraw a proposed change to EU data protection rules that could weaken safeguards for learners and education workers.

IFUT members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action, up to and including strike action, in the union’s public service ballot.93% of those voting backed industrial action.

Many IFUT members may not be aware that the Irish Federation of University Teachers is officially recognised as a nominating body for elections to the Cultural and Educational Panel of Seanad Éireann.
