IFUT members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action, up to and including strike action, in the union’s public service ballot.93% of those voting backed industrial action.

Many IFUT members may not be aware that the Irish Federation of University Teachers is officially recognised as a nominating body for elections to the Cultural and Educational Panel of Seanad Éireann.

IFUT General Secretary Frank Jones attended the launch of the Programme for International Assessment (PISA) 2025 results this morning (September 8). The report was formally launched by the Minister for Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton TD.
